Citrus Organization for the Gifted (COG) is a new and dynamic parent-teacher organization designed with the particular needs of the gifted student and his/her family in mind.

Incorporated in 2006 by a group of concerned parents and teachers, COG provides a vehicle to:

• encourage communication about gifted children between parents, educators and the community;

• reach out to all parents of gifted children who need support and resources;

• organize enrichment activities for gifted and talented children that will encourage intellectual, social and emotional development; and

• support the implementation of Gifted and Talented Programs within Citrus County Schools.

The primary purpose of the Citrus Organization for the Gifted is to serve the needs of the gifted child.

Our mission is to provide support, education and advocacy for gifted and talented children in Citrus County, their parents/guardians, educators and interested members of the community.

It is an organization that will help you find resources, provide a community that shares your concerns, and most importantly strives to stay informed with what’s happening in gifted education and then provide a forum where we can join our voices together in advocating for our children.
